Strong governance is one of the smartest investments an organization can make, and it does not need to be expensive or time-consuming to be effective.
We’re pleased to share the OnBOARD Training Course Bundle, a comprehensive governance training program created by Deb McClelland, a nationally respected governance advisor with decades of experience working with Chambers of Commerce, non-profits, and volunteer boards across Canada.
This bundled program delivers exceptional value by combining four essential governance courses into one streamlined, self-paced learning experience. It offers a fraction of the cost of traditional workshops or one-off training sessions.
What members receive:
- Four complete governance modules covering roles and responsibilities, strategic oversight, recruitment, and board effectiveness
- Two full years of access, allowing boards to onboard new directors and revisit content anytime
- Practical tools and templates that can be used immediately in board meetings
- Self-paced, online learning designed for busy volunteer leaders
- A shared foundation of knowledge that helps boards govern more efficiently and confidently
This bundle is particularly well-suited for
- Chambers and Boards onboarding new directors
- Organizations looking to strengthen governance without increasing costs
- Boards seeking alignment and consistency in how they operate
Governance Trainer & Principal, OnBOARD Training
Over the years, Deb’s passion has been to assist boards in realizing their potential by travelling around the country mentoring, teaching and facilitating numerous workshops on the subject.
Deb has studied board governance for over fifteen years, primarily through The Governance Group, based in Vancouver. She has served on many boards, including national and provincial boards, for over thirty-five years. She also worked as Executive Director at the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce for fifteen years, supporting her board of directors as they transitioned to a solid governance model. Within all these experiences, she came to realize that governance, when done right, could be fun and easy. That is why she has developed governance workshops, including a streamlined strategic planning process, that are highly effective, engaging and inspiring.
Deb has been recognized as Executive of the Year and Chamber of the Year by her provincial network and Executive of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada. Most recently, she was appointed to the Council of Excellence by a panel of her peers across the country and appointed as Fellow of the BC Chamber of Commerce.
