How the federal government’s tax proposals can change the landscape
Learn how income splitting works, how investments are currently taxed in corporations and how business owners can currently benefit from these strategies. The rules are in flux, but it is important to understand the fundamentals to make sure you get the most out of your business and understand what is at stake. We will also consider what this means for future business decisions. The session will be responsive to reflect the current status of tax policy changes and the needs of the audience. There will also be an opportunity to ask any burning questions on general tax matters.
We’ll cover questions like:
- Should businesses buy investments or property, or save for retirement, in their corporations?
- Should new businesses incorporate at all, and if so, who should own the shares?
- Is there anything businesses can or should do before any new rules come into effect?
- Determine if and how income splitting is a good strategy for your business
- Understand if you should make investments or save for retirement in your corporation
- Learn why incorporating a new business may or may not be a good idea for you
Want an opportunity to get more specific about your own situation? Sign up for a 45 minutes 1-on-1 with Theresa to strategize about your business and tax management.
