Description
Labour Market Conditions
What employers can do now to prepare for shortages this coming winter
British Columbia's labour market is forecast to grow by nearly a million jobs with only 650,000 available workers. Whistler is likely to face an exacerbated challenge. Increasingly, employers will need to be savvy recruiters establishing themselves as 'employers of choice' to build the very best teams. What will this new future look like and what can businesses do to prepare for it? Join Christian Saint Cyr, publisher of the BC Labour Market Report, as he explains the data and discusses the role of factors such as demographic change, technology, consumer trends and globalization. Participants will then break into groups and have solution-focused roundtable discussions centered on housing, transportation, or other areas of focus facilitated by Work BC.
Key takeaways:
- Practical information to proactively prepare now
- Tools and resources for staff development
- Collective group brain storming in an intimate setting
