The Art of Negotiation - How to Get What You Want
Get what you need out of life and business
We often think of negotiations in the context of wheeling and dealing sports agents or cut-throat business transactions, but negotiation is something each of us does on a daily basis. Day to day office operations, our relationships, even how we raise our family - in the words of Meryl Streep, “there’s no roadmap—it’s all an enormous negotiation!”
Senior Executive Coach, Cynthia Roney will host a highly interactive discussion around this crucial skill. She’ll start with a lighthearted look at different negotiation styles, so you can see what works and what doesn’t, and explore what will work best for you. We’ll talk about why women often feel uncomfortable negotiating, why we don’t ask for what we want, and the how consequences of not negotiating show up in our personal and professional lives. Roney will reveal the traits of great negotiators, the biggest negotiating mistakes and a simple step-by step method to follow for success. She’ll also include a self-evaluation assessment and wrap with takeaways to work on to build your negotiation toolkit – so you can hammer out some game-changing growth, personally and professionally.
Key takeaways
- The top 10 traits of great negotiators & top 10 negotiating no-no’s
- A simple 5 step negotiation process to get what you want
- Self-assessment tool shows how you measure up as an effective negotiator
