About Us

Whistler Independent Supported Housing began in 2019 when a passionate group of Whistler locals united to create supportive housing for individuals with developmental disabilities. What started as a simple idea quickly became a determined mission. Recognizing the urgent need for inclusive housing, they took action—organizing fundraisers, raising community awareness, and assembling a skilled board of directors.
Their perseverance paid off. After years of hard work, navigating regulations, and securing support, they achieved charitable status in Canada in 2023. This milestone opened doors to new funding, strengthened partnerships, and expanded their impact.
Today, the society continues to grow, driven by its commitment to safe, sustainable housing. Through grants, donations, and collaboration, they are turning their vision into reality—creating an inclusive community where individuals with developmental disabilities are valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.
