Sous Chef – The Raven Room

The Raven Room is hiring a full time Sous Chef to join our team at our vibrant restaurant and cocktail bar. If you're a passionate, skilled chef with leadership potential, we want you to help lead our kitchen team and ensure every dish is prepared to perfection.

Wage & Benefits:

  • $24-26 per hour, based on experience
  • Hours: Kitchen open from 3 PM – midnight daily
  • Perks: Free meal every shift
  • Discounts: 65% off drinks + 50% off food when not working

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager in the daily operations of the kitchen.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure orders are filled accurately and efficiently during service.
  • Monitor quality control for all dishes, ensuring they meet the restaurant's standards for taste and presentation.
  • Help manage kitchen stock levels and assist in inventory, ordering, and restocking supplies.
  • Track food costs and waste to help optimize budget management and maintain profitability.
  • Address and resolve team conflicts or issues promptly, maintaining a positive and respectful kitchen environment.
  • Foster a culture of open communication among team members to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
  • Promote a positive work culture, where teamwork and respect are prioritized to create a supportive and enjoyable work environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a supervisory role in a kitchen environment.
  • Strong understanding of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation standards.
  • Ability to lead by example, offering guidance and support to team members.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to resolve conflicts in a calm and professional manner.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards, both in food quality and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Ability to work efficiently and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • A passion for food and the desire to contribute to a positive and supportive work culture.
